It was two years in the making — what with all the research, the testing, the racing, then more testing and even more racing. But the end result was well worth the time and effort, because we’re now releasing the Teryx 840 Race Kit, a Baja-winning race motor kit for the Kawasaki Teryx 750.
The Teryx 840 Race Kit features the exact same products and design innovations that we have used here at Dragonfire to build winning Sportsman UTVs for the 2009 Baja 500 and the 2009 Baja 1000. And unlike most race teams, who hold their race motor secrets close to their chests, we’re is proud to outline the race-winning features of our new motor kits.
In fact, our founder and president, Todd Romano, frequently says Dragonfire’s main purpose in racing is to develop products that will help other racers improve their vehicle’s performance and function. So while race teams tend not to release their secrets to the market, Dragonfire does. We’ve teamed up with leading race component suppliers throughout the world to make sure the new motor is the most advanced power plant for the feisty Kawasaki Teryx 750.
Key features of the new Dragonfire Teryx 840 Race Kit include:
- An 11 to 1, 90-millimeter oversized piston kit with valve pocket relief that allows for an oversized valve of up to 2 millimeters.
- A forged, proprietary cam grind, allows for the perfect duration and lift for the CVT power band. (Most camshafts are designed for manual transmissions that need to build power and torque at low rpm. Ours knows the rpm range that is best suited for the CVT transmission, and allows for tremendous over rev and aggressive torque curve, making most of its power where it is best used).
- A valve train kit that comes with all new springs, retainers and a new top end gasket kit.
